REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS TAIWAN TOURIST VISA

••TOURIST VISA * If staying over 30* days, please send the following:

Passport

Please send WPVS your current valid and signed passport. U.S passport must be valid 6 months beyond intended stay and must have at least one blank visa page.

Photo

Please send Two recent professional passport-type photograph.
Digital and non-passport photographs are not acceptable.

Proof of Departure

Please send a copy of your round trip airline tickets, or itinerary or e-ticket, or letter of confirmation from a travel agent. The itinerary must show the applicant's name, date of arrival and departure from the country, and flight information. The Embassy does not recommend purchasing your ticket prior to a visa being issued.

Introduction Letter

Applicants applying for a Tourist or Private Visit Visa must supply a Letter of Introduction addressed to the Consular Section of the Embassy of Taiwan. Please, indicate the purpose of your trip, your contact in Taiwan, the dates of your planned trip, and places to be visited.

Bank Statement

Copy of recent Bank Statement is required.

Proof of Departure

Business Letter

A business letter of responsibility is required, to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to:
Embassy of Taiwan, Visa Section, Washington DC
The letter must explain all of the following:
Nature of business to be performed
Name and address of reference to be visited
This letter should request Multiple Entries visa if required
Guarantee of return transportation and sufficient funds for the visit
The letter should be signed by an officer of the company other than the applicant.

Online WPVS Order Form

You must complete the Online Order Form.

The order form gives WPVS your name, address, shipping information and payment method. Multiple applicants can be entered using one order form. You only need to complete one WPVS order form per request. Please print two copies of the confirmation page. Include one copy with the documents you ship to WPVS and keep one copy for your records. While completing the online order form in this step, you will be asked how you want to pay WPVS fees. You may pay our fees online with a credit card.

Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP)

By connecting on the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program, State Department will be able to assist you better in the case of an emergency, such as if you lose your passport or it is stolen while you are abroad.

A passport is required. U.S. passport holders will be allowed to enter Taiwan without a visa for up to thirty days (no extensions allowed) if they have a passport valid for at least six months from the date of entry into Taiwan and they have a confirmed return or onward air ticket.
