REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS NIGERIA TOURIST VISA

Passport

Please send WPVS your current valid and signed passport. U.S passport must be valid 6 months beyond intended stay and must have at least one blank visa page.

Photo

Please send One recent professional passport-type photograph.
Digital and non-passport photographs are not acceptable.

Proof of Departure

Please send a copy of your round trip airline tickets, or itinerary or e-ticket, or letter of confirmation from a travel agent. The itinerary must show the applicant's name, date of arrival and departure from the country, and flight information. The Embassy does not recommend purchasing your ticket prior to a visa being issued.

Bank Statement

Copy of the applicant's most recent monthly bank statement. The statement must clearly show the applicant's name as the account holder, the balances of the accounts, and the date of the statement.

Hotel Reservation

Copy of hotel confirmations.

Visiting Relatives

If visiting Nigerian relatives or friends, copy of letter of personal invitation and first four pages of their Nigerian passport.

Proof of Departure

Business Letter

A business letter of responsibility is required, to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to:
Embassy of Nigeria, Visa Section, Washington DC
The letter must explain all of the following:
Nature of business to be performed
Name and address of reference to be visited
This letter should request Multiple Entries visa if required
Guarantee of return transportation and sufficient funds for the visit
The letter should be signed by an officer of the company other than the applicant.

Letter of invitation from your host/sponsor in Nigeria.

••Note: Follow the step by step online instructions. Your application must be submitted online and the appropriate Consular fee paid for by credit card online ($160USD). When confirmed, Please print a copy of your ""Visa Acknowledgment Slip"" ""Visa Payment Slip"" and Payment receipt from Google Checkout, then mail all three to WPVS for processing. Failure to fully complete the visa application form will delay processing the visa.

You must complete the Online Order Form.

The order form gives WPVS your name, address, shipping information and payment method. Multiple applicants can be entered using one order form. You only need to complete one WPVS order form per request. Please print two copies of the confirmation page. Include one copy with the documents you ship to WPVS and keep one copy for your records. While completing the online order form in this step, you will be asked how you want to pay WPVS fees. You may pay our fees online with a credit card.

Register with U.S. Embassy

Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP)

By connecting on the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program, State Department will be able to assist you better in the case of an emergency, such as if you lose your passport or it is stolen while you are abroad.

A passport and visa are required. The visa must be obtained in advance. Visas cannot be obtained aboard planes or at the airport.
