REQUIREMENTS FOR Non U.S. CITIZENS TO OBTAIN A AUSTRALIAN LONG STAY TOURIST VISA

Passport

Please send WPVS your current valid and signed passport. U.S passport must be valid 6 months beyond intended stay and must have at least one blank visa page.

Photo

Please send Two recent professional passport-type photograph.
Digital and non-passport photographs are not acceptable.

Proof of Departure

Please send a copy of your round trip airline tickets, or itinerary or e-ticket, or letter of confirmation from a travel agent. The itinerary must show the applicant's name, date of arrival and departure from the country, and flight information. The Embassy does not recommend purchasing your ticket prior to a visa being issued.

Bank Statement

A copy of the applicant's recent bank statement or evidence of adequate finance, such as a letter from a bank, or money market statement. It is advisable to erase account numbers.

Employer Letter

Letter from employer/school confirming leave of absence and vacation dates and that applicant will be returning to his/her place of employment or school.

Letter of Intent

Letter of Intent addresses to the Australian Embassy outlining the applicants purpose of travel, length of stay, name of places to be visited, contact information and accommodation information in Australia

REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO OBTAIN A AUSTRALIAN SHORT STAY BUSINESS VISA

Passport

Please send WPVS your current valid and signed passport. It must not expire within 3 months and must have two blank facing visa pages. If your passport expires within 3 months, you must renew your passport and then we will secure your visa with the new passport.

Photo

Please send Two recent professional passport-type photograph.
Digital and non-passport photographs are not acceptable.

Proof of US Status

Photocopy of Alien Registration Card (Green Card) -or- evidence of legal status in USA (valid visa plus I-94 in passport)

Business Letter

A business letter of responsibility is required, to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to:
Embassy of Australia, Visa Section, Washington DC
The letter must explain all of the following:

The purpose of travel and duties to be performed in Australia

Guarantee financial support for the applicant while in Australia.

If attending a conference in Australia, a copy of the invitation may suffice in lieu of this letter.

Invitation Letter

Original Letter of invitation on letterhead from a host company or organization in Australia.

Online WPVS Order Form

You must complete the Online Order Form.

The order form gives WPVS your name, address, shipping information and payment method. Multiple applicants can be entered using one order form. You only need to complete one WPVS order form per request. Please print two copies of the confirmation page. Include one copy with the documents you ship to WPVS and keep one copy for your records. While completing the online order form in this step, you will be asked how you want to pay WPVS fees. You may pay our fees online with a credit card.

Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP)

By connecting on the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program, State Department will be able to assist you better in the case of an emergency, such as if you lose your passport or it is stolen while you are abroad.

American citizens are required to have a valid U.S. passport to enter Australia. Americans must enter with an Australian visa or, if eligible, through Electronic Travel Authority (ETA). The ETA replaces a visa and allows a stay of up to three months.
